Abortion: A Religious Issue Essays -- essays research papers fc
Premature birth: A Religious Issue à à à à à One of the hardest issues to banter in our present reality is premature birth. Premature birth is the actuated end of pregnancy before the baby can endure. These days, fetus removal influences all individuals, not simply the mother and the infant. There are good, moral, wellbeing related, political, and strict perspectives that influence how individuals feel towards fetus removal. By taking a gander at religion and its perspectives, one can see exactly how hard it is contend in the professional decision position of this discussion. à à à à à First of all, I should begin with the truthâ⬠¦the Bible doesn't straightforwardly say anything regarding fetus removal. The real word isn't referenced in any way. During scriptural occasions, fetus removal was an incomprehensible demonstration and ââ¬Å"there was no compelling reason to make reference to it in the criminal codeâ⬠(Anderson 1). ââ¬Å"Children were seen as a blessing or legacy from the Lordâ⬠¦ the Scriptures stateâ⬠¦that God opens and shuts the belly and is sovereign over conceptionâ⬠(Anderson 1). In this sense, ââ¬Å"childlessness was viewed as a curseâ⬠(Anderson 1). Sections taken from the Bible are utilized as supporting subtleties since they state in a roundabout way how God feels towards the issue. Before Christ was conceived, notwithstanding, feelings varied towards premature birth. Undesirable kids were demolished through premature birth and child murder on the grounds that the Romans and Greeks thought human life was neither hallowed nor intact (Ayd 48). Truth be told, Aristole asserted ââ¬Å"that all infants past a legitimately characterized standard ought to be condemned to death by exposureâ⬠(Ayd 48). Be that as it may, there were a few people who protested this brutality. ââ¬Å"Hippocrates announced that doctors ought not perform or empower a ladies to obtain an abortionâ⬠(Ayd 48). Despite the fact that there were laws against the demonstration, individuals disregarded them and kept on playing out the method as though it was nothing. à à à à à Then God became man, and man was made in Godââ¬â¢s picture. The Bible says that man isn't an amazing proprietor and body, and the utilizations he can make of these are constrained and administered by divine law (Ayd 48). The whole will of God is for man to come to know Him in an individual relationship so he may spend time everlasting in Heaven. This is the reason there is life on Earth. In the event that one can experience the preliminaries and enticements of life and remain on the Lord, at that point he is regarded qualified to go to Heaven. By finishing a premature birth, the u... ...holic Churches will keep on encouraging that the Bible and God are against premature birth. There will likewise be numerous individuals who will contradict this instructing in light of their own feelings and convictions. Regardless of how individuals feel towards the issue of premature birth, we should recollect that the whole methodology is between the mother and the baby. Both should be thought about when settling on a choice, and it isn't difficult to see where one may be driven once perusing the Bible. à à à à à There is only one thing I don't comprehend. Whatever happened to the Golden Rule: Do unto others as you would have them do unto you? As Dr. Irvine Page says, ââ¬Å" Life has a method of rendering retribution on the individuals who decimate itâ⬠(Ayd 51). Analyzing the Narrative Essay Example for Free
Breaking down the Narrative Essay It was the winter of 2006, in the period of January, and my lesser year of secondary school. At this point in secondary school Iââ¬â¢d had some peculiar instructors and to be straightforward Mr. DeBruyn didnââ¬â¢t appear to be so remarkably unique yet evidently he had his minutes. English class started on a day when it appeared as though school ought to have been dropped due to the blizzardous climate prior that morning. Mr. DeBruyn had a promising look all over then says, ââ¬Å"Weââ¬â¢re doing an in class composing task today however itââ¬â¢s not going to be in classâ⬠. The entire class delayed and hung tight for his next sentence. He advised everybody to go to our storage spaces and get readied to head outside. Everybody dissented and everything he could state is ââ¬Å"you have three minutes, dress warmâ⬠, as though we wouldnââ¬â¢t! Back in the study hall we snatched our journals admirably well with our gloves, scarves, caps, and puffy winter coats to keep us down. The task was to expound on nature, of course, however this time from a direct encounter. We were to pick a specific part of what we state outside and examine how the day off winter climate influenced it, regardless of whether it be a plant, shrub, tree, or whatever. Once outside everybody was shuddering and freezing attempting to smack down notes as quick as could be expected under the circumstances. Mr. DeBruyn then pulled out a computerized camera and snapped a photo of the recognize every understudy inspected. Back inside everybody hurried to complete an exposition of their rough notes. Iââ¬â¢d trusted it wasnââ¬â¢t worth a lot of our evaluation. A couple of months passed by and he hadnââ¬â¢t referenced anything about the task, nor gave it back to us. It was April now. He restored the task and nobody scored higher than a ââ¬ËBââ¬â¢, which was normal. He at that point gave us each a duplicate of the region we contemplated, from the photos he had taken, and sent us back outside to rethink a similar spot. We were advised to re-compose the task and now graphically think about the two pictures and had the climate conditions caused the pictures to shift. Mr. DeBruyn turned out not to be so terrible, in truth he was somewhat cool. I preferred that he had tested us in one of a kind ways, and evidently so did every other person. Turns out, his imaginative training style contacted the hearts of a ton of understudies, not simply me. As evidence, he was casted a ballot as the educator to talk at our graduation. Also, that is no little respect. The benefit of tending to the graduating class at their initiation practices is an immediate demonstration of to how much the educators is adored and increased in value by the class. The instructor picked, in this way, is the person who has the best effect on the whole class. What's more, I assuredly concur that Mr. DeBruyn has been a motivation, and I will never take a gander at winter a similar way again. The narrative of Mr. DeBruyn is a convincing bit of story, basic in its utilization of words, yet profoundly powerful and crude with feelings. The utilization of basic words and direct symbolism makes the material open to everybody. Be that as it may, while basic and profoundly available, the piece is similarly provocative, connecting with the peruser in philosophical thoughts, while perusing the piece and a short time later. Instructors and understudies the same will discover exercises in the basic story of Mr. DeBruyn and the exercises about existence that he grants to his understudies. The most striking topic in the article is the idea of training being practice by the educator, Mr. DeBruyn. John Dewey, the extraordinary instructive logician, once said that there is no preferable setting for learning over the setting of reality. Tragically, most classes offer unadulterated hypotheses with no presentation on how such speculations find reasonable structure in the reality. Specifically, Deweyââ¬â¢s thoughts on utilizing genuine assignments and difficulties discover extraordinary centrality in my group with Mr. DeBruyn. à The openings he gave the class to encounter genuine is really one exercise that everybody in that class will always remember. Instructing is maybe one of the most significant of all callings on the grounds that consistently you are allowed to make important and enduring commitment to an individualââ¬â¢s life. Actually the No Child Left Behind Act perceives the solitary intensity of instructors in the learning procedure; to such an extent that the bar has been brought for educators up with expectations of improving the instructive framework. I accept that a major piece of the decrease in training is that most educators have lost pride in their work. Educators must have a feeling of pride of work. Sadly, when the work is hard and the cash is tight, that is effectively overlooked. In that capacity, there is a critical requirement for changes, and the network should play a functioning job in causing educators to feel increasingly esteemed through dynamic help and affirmation. By the single demonstration of catching winter and seeing the picture contrasted and another season, the class turned out to be increasingly mindful of their environmental factors and turned out to be progressively keen to their general surroundings. In one particular flash of brilliance, Mr. DeBruyn had the option to revive our feeling of marvel and revelation, things which are at the very heart of learning, and is basic for each understudy and educator to have, paying little mind to whatever subject is being instructed or learned. Obviously, of most extreme significance is the thing that I have gained from this class. On the off chance that there is one thing that I will convey from my involvement in Mr. DeBruyn, it is that you need to let your understudies start to lead the pack. As an educator you must be delicate to the signs that your understudies are sending you exclusively and on the whole as a class. Students will consistently offer you hints whether you are making the best choice or not. You must be prepared for possibilities and be set up to make on the spot modifications. Let them disclose to you how they need to learn, in light of the fact that they recognize what they need from their instructor. I have figured out how to take a gander at things from every single imaginable level and embrace my deduction from those points of view. In the event that I become an educator, I ought to never force myself on them; rather let them show me how they need to be instructed. This is a significant acknowledgment that I will consistently remember should I choose to enter the educating business. Undoubtedly while the facts confirm that understudies need to feel that somebody is in charge and answerable for their condition and sets study hall restricts however looks after them (Wong, 2001), it is progressively significant for educators to let the psyches of the understudies take off in awe and disclosure. Obviously it has the right to be referenced that the things I have gained from Mr. DeBruyn goes past the study hall; more than showing a thing or two, Mr. DeBruyn showed us life. Much has been said about the honorability of the showing calling, and in reality, the high feeling of obligation and oneself penances required from an educator regularly is nothing not exactly gallant. I see this direct in the account of DeBruynââ¬â¢s class. From this straightforward exposition I have understood that instructive changes don't really need to cost anything. To be sure, Mr. DeBruyn has indicated that it doesn't require some investment or cash to impact a change inside the study hall. As what Mr. DeBruyn has appeared, all that is required is the energy for instructing and certifiable want to partake in the learning experience. It isn't troublesome, and all that is expected to return to the rudiments. In the instructive procedure, all instructors must be reminded that the learning procedure begins with what the youngster knows. Earlier learning is where new ideas are based upon. Thusly, every educator should start with the past exercise and associate it to the new material. Let the kid see the relationship and construct their own ideas. Along these lines the youngster gains responsibility for he has learned on the grounds that it was an aftereffect of what he definitely knows. These are the things I have had the option to think about, and it has had a significant impact in me as an individual glancing her place in the sun. From firsthand experience, I have seen the intensity of the educator to make important and enduring commitment to the lives of understudies. Undoubtedly the educator is the single greatest factor that decides the achievement or disappointment of the understudies to realize what they should. I have understood that the educator makes the climate that concentrates the class on their errands and keeps them occupied with the exercises. For sure, every second is a chance to learn, and the educator must make that open door for the understudies. (Mujis, 2005, 75) Understanding Mr. DeBruyn I have understood that Mr. Paul Trout of The Chronicle Review would be satisfied by his story. Mr. Trout, in her article entitled Shame on You, investigates instruction and advances that the more the study halls are dangers to the understudies resolve and prosperity. While Mr. Troutââ¬â¢s contentions might be substantial, Mr. DeBruyn goes against Mr. Troutââ¬â¢s theory. There can be reclamation and extraordinary motivation inside the four corridors of the study hall. The negative perspective on the instructors and the school, while not unwarranted, isn't in every case valid. The nation over, educators are having any kind of effect in the lives of understudies, each caring word and consolation in turn. As per Paul Freireââ¬â¢s Pedagogy of the Oppressed (1993), à ââ¬Å"A cautious examination of the educator understudy relationship at any level, inside or outside the school, uncovers its on a very basic level story character. This relationship includes a describing Subject (the educator) and patient listening objects (the students).â⬠This portrayal of Friere delineates a single direction connection among understudies and instructors, and accordingly, the exchange of information happens when the educator describes or utilizes words to educate. However, words, while incredibly ground-breaking and compelling at starting change isn't the main apparatus at a teacherââ¬â¢s removal. Genuine encounters go past any words to appropriately depict. Mr. DeBruyn demonstrated this by submerging his class in genuine encounters, which didn't require much clarifying. It was a

Some even believe that checking out people other than a committed partner is a sure sign of infidelity. The true answer to whether or not this is OK lies with you, your needs, and your personal boundaries. Differing Viewpoints According to Gail Saltz, M.D., a psychiatrist and expert on relationship matters, blatantly checking out, commenting on, repeatedly admiring, and flirting or touching someone else usually feels quite undermining to a partner. For partners that are bothered by the behavior, having wandering eyes is often described as: A sign of disrespectInsensitive behavior that shows a lack of caringOffensiveDamaging to a relationshipOne of the first signs of cheating and that a person is looking for another relationship Dr. Saltz acknowledges that all humans have some measure of voyeurism and exhibitionism: we like to look and we like to show. But unless both parties are confident of the others affection and fidelity, an obvious and frequent wandering eye will generally stir up envy and hurt, making one feel unappreciated and even threatened in the relationship. On the other hand, there are people who believe that having a wandering eye is perfectly normal behavior. People in this camp often dont worry themselves about a quick glance, and some may not even be bothered by something more. Those who feel this way often cite the following points: Looking at an attractive person is thought to be a natural physiological reaction.A person with wandering eyes just appreciates beauty. Again, its important to remember that you define what is normal and acceptable for yourself and your relationship. That said, a study published in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology found that a consistent wandering eye probably signals a bigger issue in a relationship, which is worth considering.?? What to Do If Your Partners Eyes Wander If you are bothered by your partners eyes wandering, Dr. Saltz suggests that you make it clear that although you dont expect them to wear blinders, you dont want them to ogle someone else. If your partner really wont make any effort to change and doesnt appear to care how it makes you feel, its likely that other issues may be affecting your relationship that couples therapy could help examine. Indeed, it seems that research agrees with this advice. The aforementioned study goes on to say that nagging your partner to stop looking likely wont address any underlying problems, either.?? Your relationship will require communication and a strategy to boost satisfaction and commitment. Leading with jealousy and sweeping requests for your partner to change his or her behavior may lead them to tune you out. Instead, Dr. Saltz suggests the following: Dont try to police your partners wandering eyes.Accept that your partners wandering eye is not a reflection of your own attractiveness.Try to casually acknowledge it first when a beautiful person comes into view.If your partners wandering eye creates a problem in your relationship, discuss the issue with them. Start with your own feelings, not with an accusation or criticism. Suggest couples therapy or attend therapy on your own if your requests are continually ignored. How to Know if You Need Marriage Counseling A Word From Verywell A wandering eye could very well be a natural, simple acknowledgment of attractive peopleâ"nothing more. Of course, that may not be the case all the time. Regardless, your feelings should be valid to your partner. If it bothers you and you have calmly expressed as such to your partner, he or she should be receptive to your concerns.

Essay about Education, Academic Intelligence, and...
Education, Academic Intelligence, and Personal Experience Education not only revolves around academic intellect, but also around experiences one comes across in life. It is clearly evident that all living creatures, with human beings being the highest form, have evolved throughout history up until now, solely by learning or being educated in order to survive. For example, from the moment a baby comes into the world, the infant tries to acquaint him or herself to the environment maybe by touching or by struggling to see the world ahead. Even in todayââ¬â¢s society, social status is not depended solely upon oneââ¬â¢s economic wealth, but also by the capacity of oneââ¬â¢s intellect. The same rules apply when thinking in terms of learningâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Well, according to Toni Bambara, education should not solely rely on the desires to gain fortune. The story begins with the students who live in the inner cities of New York showing their ignorance and stupidity towards receiving education. They show a lack of interest in learning and basically complain about what their new teacher, Miss Moore, has in store for them. Well, it is evident that Miss Moore is a high class individual with a very strong educational background. She has a wide scope of the world outside of where she lives. On the contrary, the students have no clue on what is out there outside the world beyond their niche. Knowing what education really is, Miss Moore plans one of her classes on a field trip. She teaches her students by taking them to the ââ¬Å"richâ⬠part of New York . This field trip allows the students to learn that there are other types of communities outside of their own community. As the students become immersed into a world where success lies from many different forms of education, their minds become open to the reality of life, in general. It is clear that Miss Moore is testing her students to see whether or not they are tempted by material goods. And sadly enough, they do show their desires for material goods when they pass by the toy stores. But amazingly enough, Miss Moore is able to change that by allowingShow MoreRelatedAnalysis Of `` Blue Collar Brilliance `` By Gerald Graff1622 Words à |à 7 PagesEquivalence of Intelligence Academic work should not define intelligence nor should a job define ability; a person, regardless of grades, degrees, or job title, is an intellect. Viswanatha Satyanarayana the Legacy of Telugu Literature Essay Example For Students
Viswanatha Satyanarayana the Legacy of Telugu Literature Essay About Viswanatha Viswanatha Satyanarayana, the Poet Laureate of Andhra Pradesh and winner of JnanPith Award, is undoubtedly one of the greatest scholar-poets of Andhra. An octogenerian with continuous and untiring literary activity extending over six decades, Viswanatha Satyanarayana has had the good fortune of living with writers of three generations. The first generation of elders are his seniors in age at least by 20 years. They include his Gurus also. The second generation consists of contemporaries mostly of his age with a few others. The third generation consists of writers who are juniors to him by 20 to 40 years. These three generations represent writers of Puranic and Prabandhic style, moderns who wrote in the same style and those of the Bhavakavita school of poetry, and all the rest who tried to improve upon it or revolt against it. All these writers, whether they agree or disagree with Viswanatha, respect his unquestioned authority. In scholarship and learning he is on par with the ancient scholar-poets. In tradition he is in line with Nannaya, Tikkana and Srinatha, the great masters of Telugu poetry. The ideal of his poetry is the nearest approximation to the prayer ââ¬Å"Lokaah Samastaah Sukhino Bhavantu. I am also add that it does not confine itself only to man but includes all living creatures. It reminds us of the Sanskrit benediction, ââ¬Å"Samno astu dwipade sam catushpade. â⬠It can be stated without exaggeration that he tried every literary form and excelled in it in a unique fashion Birth On September 10th 1895 at Nandamuru, Krishna District, in an affluent Vaidik Brahmin family, that a child was born in a scholarly family with perhaps neer thought that the child was soon to become the uncrowned monarch pervading the entire world of become the uncrowned monarch pervading the entire world of Telugu Literature. Besides the Chief Minister, I could recognise only two ministers. A friend counted four more. Are they running a parallel Government in the Indian Capital or what? President Giri, who turned up in a brown close-collar coat arrived on time. Sometimes he has a habit of keeping people waiting; at the recent international womenââ¬â¢s conference, which he was to inaugurate, Mr. Giri arrivel 45 minutes late). Viswanatha himself came in his usual (white) dhoti and kurta, a grayish-green shawl wrapped around his none-to-healthy frame for protection from the chilly breeze of that November evening. We thought that the poet would sit next to the President. But Dr. Karan Singh was sandwiched between the two. The Chief Minister didnââ¬â¢t sit next to Mr. Giri on the other side either. Bharatiya Jnanpithââ¬â¢s foundertrustee Shanti Prasad Jain sat in between. Mr. P. That evening Mr. Rao looked more like a scholar and so much less like a politician. He spoke in chaste Hindi except for three words (ââ¬ËKatte, Kotte, Techcheââ¬â¢) which is used to explain to the gathering how good the Telugus were at reducing the essence of the great epic into three simple words. Like Veni, Vidi, Vici. Characterisation Itââ¬â¢s impossible, said Mr. Rao, to describe that a marvelous job Vishwanatha has done of it. Valmiki looked at Rama as though he were human, Vishwanatha makes Rama a great man, a perfect man ââ¬â a godly man . The Rama of Tulsidas and the Rama of Valmiki are juxtaposed in the Rama of Vishwantham he added. The Chief Minister went on with his discourse on the intricacies of Kalpavrikshamu. Little kids in the hall began to weep. A few souls coughed a bit, Someone quietly walked up to the CM, slipped a watch near his notes on the table and left. Mr. Rao got the hint. He was embarrassed. How can any one tell you about a book like Ramayana in ten minutes? He Smiled and rather hurriedly finished his speech and went back to his seat. Between Mr. Rao and the Kavisamrat, three others spoke the President, Jnanapith President (Mrs. Rama Jain and Selection Board Chairman Dr. Karan Singh. Mr Giriââ¬â¢s Speech was, as usual insipid. He appears to have been a trade union leader for too long. He refuses to distinguish the difference between a labour union meeting and a literary-minded peopleââ¬â¢s gathering. ââ¬Å"The paramount need of the country at the present juncture, when it is facing external danger and serious internal problems caused by the influx of the refugees from across our border, is the protection and preservation of the national integration at all costs. â⬠he said. Now how many times before did we not hear this kind of crap? This to a gathering of people who are supposed to be the elite. Must they be told thing like this at a function where your are honoring a literary genius for his creative contribution to a rich and beautiful language? Everlasting value Dr. Karan Singhââ¬â¢s brief speech was on the other hand, remarkable for at least one point he made. The greatness of epics like Ramayana, he said, lay in the fact that they were capable of being ââ¬Ëcreatively reinterpreted by generations of writers and yet retain their original flovour. He won a big applause. Dr. Singh also garlanded Vishwanatha and put ââ¬Ëtilakââ¬â¢ on his forehead. The ââ¬ËPresident then presented a statuette of Vagdevi, the symbol of the award and a while envelope containing a one-lakh rupee cheque to the poet. The citation read just before the presentation, said in part: ââ¬ËAs a poet of classic vision anl virility, as a novelist and playwright of deep-in-sight and impact, as an essayist and literary critic of force and felicity and as a stylist of rare ââ¬Ërange, Mr. Satyanarayana has carved for himself a place of eminence amongst the immortals of Telugu literature. His ceaseless creativity and versatility have kept him for these 30 years in the forefront of contemporary Telugu literary scene The 76-year old poet appeared to feel rather uneasy. Through out the ceremony (it lasted more than an hour) he was seen shuffling uncomfortably in his seat. He would exchange a few words with his neighbors (Dr. Karan Singh and Mrs. Rama Jain) occasionally; he could take out something from his kurta pocket and put in his mouth, would lean back i n his chair and breathe heavily. When the speeches were mad e in Hindi he would lost and thought ful. The sound of English would bring a flicker of smile on his dark-brown face or an occasional nod. It was now the poetââ¬â¢s turn to make a speech, the acceptance speech. .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .postImageUrl , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:hover , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:visited , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:active { border:0!important; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:active , .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u4ac17ae9fde0ea33b289e33761b374ee:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Dell2 EssayThe man who ââ¬Ëlipsed in numbers as numbers came? So he said, quoting Pope The man whose literary life spreads over 53 years. The man, who has so far written 24 poetical works (Four of them in Sanskrit). 56 novels, 23 dramas, seven volumes of literary criticism, three ballads. Two Sanskrit dramas and one collection of short stories and who is still at it, was now to speak, A critic said that Vishwanatha combines in himself the qualities of an eminent poet, a great lyrist, an outstanding novelist, a pleasant short story writer, a skilled playwright, an objective critic, a profound scholar, a voracious reader and a powerful orator. We witnessed his oratorical power and were pleased. A 3,000-word text was distributed in advance ââ¬â in English, but he did not read it fully. He began with a ââ¬ËSlokaââ¬â¢ in praise of Mrs. Rama Jain; he even presented her with a shawl. He promised to speak at least in ââ¬Ëfour or five languagesââ¬â¢ but spoke in only three English, Sanskrit and Telugu. His English was bookish, his Sanskrit unintelligibly scholarly, and his Telugu superbly spicy. ââ¬Å"I took 30 years to write my Ramayana and they want me t o tell you all bout it in 15 minutes. How can I dot that? â⬠ââ¬Å" I spent the best part of my life working on this and now I get this prize. It is as though my Lord (Rama) is paying me the wages for writing about him. â⬠ââ¬Å"I will spend a lot of this prize money to renovate a temple my father built for Lord Shiva at Nandamur (his village in Krishna District) a long time ago. The rest will go into my pocket. And my pocket has many holesâ⬠¦Ã¢â¬ Entertainment Vigyan Bhavan, packed to capacity, roared with laughter and applauded the poet in appreciation. The morning newspapers had carried extensive stories about him and the audience were now listening to the man in flesh and blood.
